JAWARA: KONSEP PENCIPTAAN TARI BERLATAR PERJUANGAN HEROIK SEORANG JAWARA SUBANG

ABSTRAK
Karya dramatari berjudul Jawara terinspirasi dari cerita rakyat daerah Subang, Jawa Barat, yaitu Ki Lapidin. Cerita tersebut tergolong kepada cerita fiksi, tetapi diyakini sebagai sejarah kepahlawanan Ki Lapidin untuk membela rakyat Subang melawan penjajah Belanda. Melalui perspektif pemahaman estetika sebagai pijakan terwujudnya fenomena Ki Lapidin yang dikaji melalui pendekatan folklore, bentuk karya tari dielaborasi melalui eksplorasi hingga mewujudkan satu sajian baru dan memiliki warna tersendiri. Metode kreativitas Alma M. Hawkins digunakan dalam mengeksplorasi dan menjelajah gerak oleh 10 orang penari melalui tahapan eksplorasi, improvisasi, dan komposisi dengan diperkuat oleh garap musik menggunakan gamelan pelog-salendro yang diminimalisir Secara estetis karya ini merupakan elaborasi tari rakyat, sehingga menjadi sajian baru dalam warna tersendiri yang mewujud sebuah dramatari.

ABSTRACT
Jawara: The Concept of Dance Creation with Heroic Struggle Bckground of a Subang Jawara, June 2020. The dance work entitled Jawara is inspired by the folklore of Subang, West Java, namely Ki Lapidin. The story belongs to fiction, but is believed to be the heroism history of Ki Lapidin to defend the people of Subang against the Dutch invader. Through the perspective of aesthetic understanding as the basis for the realization of the phenomenon of Ki Lapidin, which is examined through the folklore approach, the form of the dance work is elaborated through exploration to realize a new presentation and has its own form. The creativity method of Alma M. Hawkins is used in exploring the motions which is performed by ten dancers through the stages of exploration, improvisation, and composition embodied with musical work using minimized Pelog-Salendro gamelan. Aesthetically this work is an elaboration of folk dance so that it becomes a new presentation in its own form of a dance drama.
