Keberadaan Tari Topeng Tumenggung Barangan di Sanggar Seni Panggelar Budhi pimpinan Mbah Karta tentunya penting untuk dikaji. Hal tersebut dikarenakan oleh beberapa permasalahan, yaitu struktur Tari Topeng Tumenggung Barangan berbeda dengan topeng Tumenggung lainnya, karena di dalamnya tidak memiliki Dodoan, namun hanya menampilkan bagian Rancagan dan Munggah Terusan. Tari Topeng Tumenggung dianggap memiliki kekhasan tersendiri di antara wanda lainnya yang dapat terlihat dari segi busana serta alat pengiringnya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan kejelasan mengenai struktur Tari Topeng Tumenggung Barangan. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan konsep pemikiran bersifat teoritis dari Iyus Rusliana dengan metode deskriptif analisis melalui tahap penggalian data berupa studi lapangan dan studi pustaka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, struktur Tari Topeng Tumenggung Barangan dibentuk oleh dua elemen pokok yaitu “Isi Tari” yang mencakup tentang latar belakang cerita, gambaran dan tema, nama atau judul tarian, karakter tari serta unsur filosofisnya dan “Bentuk Tari” yang meliputi bentuk penyajian, koreografi, karawitan dan pedalangan, rias dan busana, properti dan yang berkaitan dengan tata pentas. The existence of the Barangan Tumenggung Mask Dance at Panggelar Budhi Art Studio led by Mbah Karta is certainly important to study. This is due to several problems, namely the structure of the Barangan Tumenggung Mask Dance is different from the other Tumenggung dances, because it does not have a Dodoan, but only performs Rancagan and Munggah Terusan. The Tumenggung Mask Dance is considered to have its own uniqueness among other wanda which can be seen in terms of the costume and musical accompaniment. In addition, Tumenggung Mask Dance is an inspiration source of dances in Priangan and has never been studied before. Based on these problems, the purpose of this research is to have an explanation on the structure of Barangan Tumenggung Mask Dance. This qualitative research uses a theoretical framework of Iyus Rusliana with a descriptive analysis method through the steps of collecting data in the field and literature studies. Based on the results of the research, the structure of Barangan Tumenggung Mask Dance is formed of two main elements, namely "Dance Content" which includes the background of the story, description and theme, name or title of the dance, character and its philosophical elements, and "Dance Form" which includes the form of performance, choreography, music (karawitan) and puppetry (pedalangan), make-up and costume, properties and those related to stage design.
