ESTETIKA TARI JAIPONGAN KAWUNG ANTEN KARYA GUGUM GUMBIRA

ABSTRAK
Kawung Anten merupakan salah satu tarian Jaipongan yang diciptakan oleh Gugum Gumbira pada sekitar tahun 1991, belatar cerita seorang putri dari Kerajaan Sumedang Larang yang bernama Kawung Anten yang mendapat tugas dari ayahnya yaitu Prabu Jaya Perkosa untuk menjaga pohon hanjuang. Tarian ini memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dari karya-karya tari Jaipongan yang telah diciptakan sebelumnya, terutama pada properti yang digunakan yaitu duhung (senjata tradisional yang berasal dari Sumedang). Berawal dari perbedaan itulah yang menjadi salah satu ketertarikan penulis untuk melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dalam upaya mengupas estetika dari Tari Jaipongan Kawung Anten. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori estetika instrumental A.A.M Djelantik dengan memakai pendekatan metode kualitatif deskriptif analisis. Adapun hasilnya adalah satu-satunya repertoar tari Jaipongan yang enerjik, dinamis, dan maskulin dengan menggunakan duhung sebagai propertinya.

ABSTRACT. Estetika Dance Jaipongan Kawung Anten Gugum Gumbira Works, Desember 2020. Kawung Anten is one of the Jaipongan dances created by Gugum Gumbira around1991, the background story of a princess from the Sumedang Larang Kingdom named Kawung Anten who got a task from her father, Prabu Jaya Perkosa, to guard the hanjuang tree. This dance has different characteristics from the previously created Jaipongan dance works, especially in the property used, namely the duhung (a traditional weapon originating from Sumedang). Starting from this difference, it became one of the writers' interests to conduct further research in an effort to explore the aesthetics of the Jaipongan Kawung Anten Dance. This research uses the instrumental aesthetic theory of A.A.M Djelantik using a descriptive qualitative analysis method approach. The result is the only repertoire of Jaipongan dance that is energetic, dynamic, and masculine using duhung as its property.
