ABSTRAK Proses kreatif penciptaan tari kontemporer memiliki peluang untuk menjadi media edukasi di luar pendidikan formal untuk anak-anak. Merealisasikan hal tersebut perlu sebuah data dan uji coba untuk menentukan instrument yang digunakan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui sebuah riset berbasis praktik dan praktik berbasis riset (practice based research, research based practice). Metode Literasi Tubuh dan proses kreatif tari kontemporer dijadikan sebagi instrument untuk menggali kepekaan raga, rasa, pikir, dan imajinasi anak-anak melalui pendekatan seni. Literasi Tubuh menjadi metode untuk menggiring anak-anak ke ranah proses kreatif tari kontemporer. Tari kontemporer sebagai ruang tempat aktualisasi dan mempertajam hasil dari pelatihan Literasi Tubuh. Proses Kreatif tari kontemporer memberikan peluang yang cukup terbuka untuk anak-anak berekspresi, eksplorasi, improvisasi, dan berkreasi. Proses panjang yang dilakukan secara rutin ini akan menciptakan habit baru pada anak-anak, yaitu mental kreatif, percaya diri, meningkatnya daya empati, serta berani menyatakan. Proses tersebut tidak hanya bermanfaat dalam bidang artistik tapi juga memiliki nilai edukasi yang bermanfaat dalam kehidupan mereka saat ini dan ke depannya. Kata Kunci: Media Edukasi, Literasi Tubuh, Tari Kontemporer Anak. ABSTRACT THE CREATIVE PROCESS OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE AS A MEDIUM FOR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION OUTSIDE OF THE FORMAL EDUCATION. The creative process of creating contemporary dance could become an educational medium outside of the formal education for children. It requires data and trials to determine the instrument to be used in order to realize this. Data collection was carried out through practice based research and, research based practice. The Body Literacy method and the creative process of contemporary dance are used to explore the sensitivity of children's body, feel, thought and imagination through an artistic approach. Body Literacy is a method for bringing children into the contemporary dance creative process. Contemporary dance is a space for actualizing and sharpening Body Literacy training results. The creative process of contemporary dance provides open opportunities for children to express, explore, improvise, and create. This lengthy process that is carried out continuesly will create new habits for children, namely creative mentality, self-confidence, increasingly empathy, and the courage to express. This process is not only valuable for the artistic field but also having educational values that is beneficial in their present and future life.
