Still Life is a painting that can present a historical and social development in some society. This is because, the selection of objects that being used in the still life painting always have a certain significance to the artist in its time, either symbolically or through their lives and way of thingking. Jelekong painting itself is one of the heritage from Dutch or European naturalist painters who had settled in Indonesia. The hypothesis of this research are based from the lack of significant visual development of Still Life’s paintings in Jelekong even though there have been several painters who is graduate from art degrees. This is most likely due to their target that is only for commercialization or their work ethics that based on reservations.
