INTERNALISASI NILAI KETELADANAN PADA ANAK MELALUI BUKU CERITA BERGAMBAR

Children are subjects of education who still depend on other people. Therefore, adults’ attempts to educate children to choose right from wrong are needed. There are many methods that can be used to educate children, among them is to instill positive values in children through picture-storybooks. The study of children’s internalization of positive values through picture-storybooks is carried out by using content analysis method, that is analyzing picture-storybooks full of positive values. This study elaborates positive values, children’s characteristics, and picture-storybooks that can be used as media to instill positive values in children. To support the process of children’s internalization of positive values through picture-storybooks, parents or educators must be selective in choosing the appropriate books because not all picture story books can be used as educational media for children. By doing so, children are expected to be able to adopt positive behaviors and practice them in their daily life.

Anak merupakan subyek pendidikan yang masih bergantung kepada orang lain, untuk itu diperlukan upaya yang dilakukan oleh orang dewasa untuk mendidik anak ke arah yang lebih baik. Ada banyak metode yang bisa digunakan untuk mendidik anak, salah satunya ialah dengan menginternalisasikan nilai keteladanan pada anak melalui buku cerita bergambar. Pembahasan mengenai internalisasi nilai keteladanan pada anak melalui cerita bergambar ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi, yaitu dengan menganalisis buku cerita bergambar yang sarat dengan nilai-nilai keteladanan. Kajian ini memuat penjelasan tentang keteladanan, hakikat anak, serta penjelasan mengenai buku cerita bergambar yang dapat dijadikan sebagai media internalisasi nilai keteladanan pada anak. Proses internalisasi keteladanan melalui buku cerita bergambar menuntut orangtua atau pendidik bisa memilih buku cerita bergambar yang sarat nilai, karena tidak semua buku cerita bergambar bisa dijadikan sebagai media pendidikan bagi anak. Dengan upaya yang dilakukan orangtua dan pendidik dalam memfasilitasi buku cerita bergambar yang sarat nilai diharapkan anak bisa meneladani pola laku yang baik dan bisa menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
