EKSPLORASI LIMBAH SISIK IKAN MUJAIR SEBAGAI MATERIAL UTAMA PRODUK CINDERAMATA PERHIASAN

The mujair fish scales (Oreochromis mossambicus) are the outermost part of the freshwater fish body that looks like streaks like hard rectangular shells that act rigidly as body armor, a type of cetenoid fish scales and hardfingered fish (actinopterygii). Mujjair fish scales found in Jatigede reservoir fish scales mujair waste residue process for meat consumption and untapped potential of the scales by local residents. The level of consumption needs of mujair fish is increasing and also the time of harvesting of mujair fish is fast from nursery to harvest time, but to see until now the processing of waste of mujair fish scales has never been done and only ended up to be organic waste in landfills. Jatigede reservoir tourism area does not yet have a typical cendramata product of the area of origin hence from that as a countermeasure and utilization of waste scales conducted experiment and exploration of mujair fish scales to be a new material that can be used and in the production into finished product of a set jewelry souvenir consisting of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, ring.

Sisik ikan mujair (Oreochromis mossambicus) merupakan bagian terluar pada tubuh ikan air tawar yang terlihat berhelai-helai semacam lapisan kulit keras berbentuk kepingan kecil yang kaku berfungsi sebagai pelindung tubuh, merupakan jenis sisik ikan cetenoid dan golongan ikan berjari-jari keras (Actinopterygii). Sisik ikan mujair yang ditemui pada waduk Jatigede ialah sisik ikan mujair limbah hasil sisa proses untuk dikonsumsi dagingnya dan belum dimanfaatkan potensi sisiknya oleh warga sekitar. Tingkat kebutuhan konsumsi ikan mujair semakin meningkat dan juga kurun waktu panen ikan mujair sangatlah cepat dari pembibitan hingga masa panen, namun melihat sampai saat ini pengolahan limbah sisik ikan mujair belum pernah dilakukann dan hanya berakhir menjadi limbah organik di tempat pembuangan akhir. Wilayah wisata waduk Jatigede belum memiliki produk cendramata khas daerah asal maka dari itu sebagai penanggulangan dan pemanfaatan limbah sisik dilakukan eksperimen dan eksplorasi material sisik ikan mujair agar dapat menjadi material baru yang dapat digunakan dan di produksi menjadi produk jadi berupa cendramata perhiasan satu set yang terdiri dari anting, kalung, gelang dan cincin.
