SENI DAN MEDIA MASSA: PENGELOLAAN INFORMASI SENI RUPA DALAM MEDIA BARU

Abstract

The practice of art writing in mass media is one of the important factors in boosting the progress of arts scene. This statement can be seen from the many works of art that can have more aesthetic value after criticism was written in the mass media. This strengthens the position of art writers to continue exploring with their writings in the mass media. In this perspective, management of information into things should be put forward. As an information management institution, it is appropriate that mass media can be a source that indirectly fulfills the need for complete information. But in reality there are a lot of interests behind a mass media company, the art information that is reported is actually selective, political and often ignores the true content of information. Right now, new media can be the most popular option for writer. Everyone can write any information on new media, but the most important is how the writing can be accountable for public.

Praktek menulis seni rupa di media massa adalah salah satu faktor penting dalam mendorong kemajuan seni rupa. Pernyataan ini dapat dilihat dari banyaknya karya seni yang dapat memiliki nilai estetika lebih setelah kritik ditulis di media massa. Ini memperkuat posisi penulis seni untuk terus mengeksplorasi dengan tulisan-tulisan mereka di media massa. Dalam perspektif ini, manajemen informasi menjadi hal-hal harus dikedepankan. Sebagai lembaga manajemen informasi, sudah sepantasnya media massa dapat menjadi sumber yang secara tidak langsung memenuhi kebutuhan akan informasi yang lengkap. Namun dalam kenyataannya ada banyak kepentingan di balik sebuah perusahaan media massa, informasi seni yang dilaporkan sebenarnya selektif, politis dan sering mengabaikan isi informasi yang sebenarnya. Saat ini, media baru bisa menjadi pilihan paling populer untuk penulis. Setiap orang dapat menulis informasi apa pun di media baru, tetapi yang paling penting adalah bagaimana tulisan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan untuk publik.

Author Biography

Nala Nandana Undiana

Nala Nandana was born in Bandung, 1985. studied at the Department of Art Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung and get his master's degree in Communication and Media Studies at the Graduate Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta.

Nala works using mixed media, such as paper, canvas, object findings and digital media. in 2006 Nala began to use media record (photos and video) in the work. issues that are often raised are about daily life, from the dynamics of urban life, family and art communities.

Outside of the exhibition activities, Nala actively engages in artistic governance activities. In the period 2010 - 2017 Nala has managed several art space such as; Indonesia Contemporary Art Network / iCan (Yogyakarta), Nafas Residency (Yogyakarta -Kuala Lumpur), Roemah Seni Sarasvati (Bandung), and SalianArt (Bandung).
