PENGOLAHAN MOTIF PADA BUYA BOMBA DENGAN TEKNIK DIGITAL PRINTING

Known for their traditional handwoven fabrics, Donggala one of the district in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia produces Ikat Weaving called Buya Bomba. It has 18 ancient pattern that has been neglected due to the difficulties either in the process of making and delivering the messages to continue the product to be made. But recently in order to conserve Buya Bomba, the local government necessitate their employees towore it in their even that usually worn formally as one of their fashion item necessities. Due to introduce and inovate the motif’s in Buya Bomba, the motif’s processed into digitalized motif’s and applied with digital printing techniques and turned into fashion product that could become an alternative option to be worn at any event and also able to be worn as daily outfit for Donggala’s goverments employees.

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang menghasilkan kain tradisional diantaranya terdapat Kabupaten Donggala yang terletak di provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Dengan menghasilkan kain tenun ikat yang bernama Buya Bomba yang memiliki 18 motif lawas yang sudah jarang ditemukan saat ini, karena proses pembuatannya yang rumit serta kurangnya masyarakat yang diwariskan dengan ilmu mengenai Buya Bomba itu sendiri. Dalam langkah pelestarian Buya Bomba, pemerintah daerah kabupaten Donggala mewajbkan pegawainya untuk menggunakan Buya Bomba sebagai salah satu atribut pakaian yang digunakan dalam acara–acara pemerintahan yang selalu diselenggarakan dalam bentuk pakaian resmi. Untuk mengenalkan dan memberikan inovasi pada motif yang dimiliki Buya Bomba, motif lawas yang dimiliki oleh Buya Bomba diolah kembali melalui proses komputerisasi dan diproduksi melalui digital printing. Serta diolah menjadi produk fashion dan dapat menjadi alternatif pakaian yang digunakan oleh pegawai daerah kabupaten Donggala yang dirancang untuk terlihat sebagai pakaian resmi namun tetap nyaman dan dapat digunakan dalam acara apapun.
